Simon Bourgeois and Leah Pommier started Chalet in the fall of 2024, with a physical location in Boulder, Colorado. The old Queen Anne style house on Canyon Boulevard was a fitting vessel for the fledgling shop, with a homelike interior styled to make guests want to stick around a while and take their time checking out the clothes and objects filling the space.
After growing up in Eastern France, Simon lived in Paris for many years, building a successful vintage clothing business and working as a vintage buyer for fashion designers. He drew inspiration from the myriad influences that surrounded him — punk shows, art exhibitions, fashion of all sorts, his roots in the countryside, the vibrancy of life in and out of the city. Leah was raised in a rural part of Colorado, later moving to Denver and Nashville. Growing up, she was witness to the beauty of the Western lifestyle and everything it included: vast landscapes, Native American history, hardworking people… the Spirit of the West. In the cities, she developed her creative interests and abilities by absorbing art, music, and fashion exhibitions whenever the opportunities presented themselves.
Together they’ve formed Chalet, which connects the two seemingly opposite lifestyles and conveys their common sentiments. Here at Chalet, history, artistry, craftsmanship, and style are of the highest importance, no matter the origin.
